George Gersema & Jeffery Berst Showing The Ranch To Visitors From Thailand
George grew up on a farm in Idaho. He built and sold a very successful business focused on supporting small businesses across the country. George also ran cattle in Challis, Idaho where Joe Heaps and his son, J.T. managed the Shiloh Warm Springs Ranch.
One day while George was reading the Western Horseman magazine, he read an article on the Matador ranch about raising Akaushi cattle. Knowing the Koch brothers weren’t known for stupidity, an investigation was in order. That led to two Akaushi conventions, a trial with semen and the purchase a bull and feeder calves.
Over the years, George and J.T. developed a friendship. In 2019 J.T. had the opportunity to move his family to a ranch in Absarokee, Montana where he and George began their partnership and Hi-Prime Cattle.
